On Saturday 24 May, Edu4Eco had the opportunity to combine caring for health with ecology!
We educated the residents of the City of Poznan during White Saturday at the Poznan Medical Services Centre.

White Saturday - health and prevention
White Saturdays are cyclical events organised by the City of Poznań to promote health by facilitating access to specialists and preventive examinations. Last Saturday was therefore a great opportunity to take care of your own health and that of your loved ones. During White Saturday, it was possible to undergo, among other things, mammography, breast ultrasound, cytology, densitometry, chest X-ray for adults and blood tests. Consultations with various specialists were also available, including a dietician, paediatrician and paediatric neurologist.

Can health and ecology be combined?
We answered this question during the White Saturday at POSUM, where we appeared with an educational stand. During the event, we educated on, among other things, the correct handling of waste and the impact of human activity on health. Discussions with residents focused on how to reduce air, water and soil pollution and how to use environmental resources in a way that does not harm ourselves or nature. For the younger participants, there was learning through play. Our teaching aids - jigsaw puzzles, dobble and a knowledge wheel - were very useful for this.
Pro-healthy and ecological
Health and environmental concerns often go hand in hand. By taking care of our planet, we ensure a better quality of our environment. Although sometimes our actions seem small, in the context of the environment as a whole, they make a big difference to our surroundings. Actions such as limiting car traffic, doing away with "fossil fuels" or caring for urban biodiversity reduce the urban heat island and improve air quality.
White Saturday was a good opportunity for talks introducing not only medical but also ecological topics to the residents of the City of Poznań. We are glad that as Edu4Eco portal we could join this event and support the inhabitants with practical, ecological knowledge.
