Environmental education in practice - Edu4Eco at Textile Day

Textiles are part of our everyday lives and their impact on the environment is becoming increasingly visible. Fortunately, there is a growing awareness of recycling and conscious shopping that allows us to care for the planet. More and more people are getting involved in activities that help reduce the environmental footprint of our clothing.

Environmental education is the key to the future of our planet, and young people are our hope for a better tomorrow. Yesterday, we had the opportunity to participate in a unique event that aimed not only to raise environmental awareness, but also to take practical action to protect the environment.

Youth for ecology - event to promote clothing recycling

The Edu4Eco.pl team had the pleasure of visiting the Joachim Lelewel Vocational School Complex No. 6 in Poznań yesterday. The occasion was special, as we were invited to the Textile Day, organised on the occasion of the launch of the project "Donate textiles, help the planet". The programme of the event was extremely rich and required a lot of student involvement.

One of the highlights of the programme was a mini second-hand shop, run by students, where everyone could buy second-hand clothes. Our hearts were also stolen by the fashion show 'The Second Life of Clothes', which featured outfits made from recycled materials. Pupils gave clothes a second life, creating impressive styles out of them.

The whole event culminated in the official opening of the Textile Collection Point for local residents. Its aim is to promote clothing recycling and raise environmental awareness among young people and the local community. It is a place where unwanted clothes can be donated and thus support environmental protection, as well as allowing them to be further recycled.

Environmental education in practice - how we supported young people in acquiring knowledge

As an environmental education portal, we were very pleased to be one of the partners of this event. Pupils who visited our stand had the opportunity to spin the ecological wheel of fortune and test their ecological knowledge. Although some approached uncertainly, everyone did well with the prepared puzzles! Participants at the event could also play our ecological version of Dobble, a game designed with environmental education in mind - combining great fun with learning about protecting the planet. In addition to the games, there was also time for some very inspiring talks on ecology. We were happy to answer all the questions asked by the students and were impressed by their environmental knowledge.

It was a pleasure to take part in such a unique event. We look forward to more such initiatives!
