The hardest thing you will have to remember is to water the plants. Everything else is simple. Check it out for yourself!
How do you get started? Things to know.
- Firstly - the right pot is essential! Ceramic pots or wooden boxes are ideal for growing herbs.
- Secondly - the substrate for the herbs matters. However, you can breathe easy - you can find suitable soil for this type of plant at the herb shops.
- Thirdly - location and sunshine are very important. Household and balcony herbs require a sunny and warm position. In many cases, 6 hours of sun per day is the minimum that is necessary for herbs to grow properly.
What to start with? We suggest our top three to give a new flavour to your dishes.
- The number is basil! It is an ideal addition to salads, sauces, sandwiches, pasta and even soups. It has a positive effect on digestion. And importantly - and certainly encouragingly - basil is one of the easiest herbs to grow.
- Number two is oregano! Italians love it, but it will also work perfectly in our kitchen. You can add it to sauces, casseroles or roasted meats. In addition, oregano helps with digestive problems or coughs.
- And since it's autumn, number three has to be rosemary! It is an ideal accompaniment to meat dishes with vegetables or mushrooms. It is good to know that rosemary tea reduces stress and improves memory.
New flavours and aromas are not the end of the advantages of growing herbs at home.
Growing herbs ourselves makes our dishes more nutritious. Herbs grown at home are free from pollution or pesticides. This small change has many benefits for you, but also for the environment.
