Have you heard of upcycling? If not, we've already told you about it! Upcycling is nothing more than giving a second life to old things. Before throwing anything in the recycling bin, it is worth thinking about whether the item really belongs there or whether it could be reused or recycled. Upcycling offers great opportunities in this respect!

Are you a creative person? Do you have an unlimited imagination? Upcycling is certainly something for you!

Upcycling? You're already doing it, even if you don't know it

You probably have an old tin or cardboard box in which you store your trinkets or screws. This is nothing less than upcycling. It's useful and good for the planet - so bravo to you! Think about what else you've done in upcycling that you didn't know about. There was certainly quite a lot of it!

Upcycling is not just about utility, it is about immense creativity. Today, artists all over the world, use waste in their creations to create something that makes a WOW effect. At your leisure, you can check out the work of Portuguese artist Bordalo, whose installations are world-renowned.

Curtain bags, eco toys and something for the pets

In fact, you can do anything. The only thing that limits you is your imagination. Today we are going to offer you three ideas for repurposing old, unnecessary things. We hope that this will be the start of your upcycling adventure.

  1. If you have old, unused curtains that you'd most like to throw in the bin, don't. Get your hands on a needle and thread. You can make reusable fruit and vegetable bags out of old curtains.
  2. Don't throw away cardboard boxes, but create an eco-toy out of them. An example is a doll's house or a car track. It's fun for the whole family!
  3. If you have an old blouse or blanket that you feel is unnecessary, don't throw these things away either. Take a pair of scissors and create a tug-of-war for your pet. YouTube can help you with this, where you will find step-by-step instructions on how to do it. Just type in the phrase "pet jerky".

Upcycling is based on ingenuity, so your list could easily have not three, but a hundred items. What will it be like?
