Prevention

Want to know how you can help protect the air you breathe every day? Here are simple but effective ways that are easy to put into practice! From choosing eco-friendly forms of transport, to saving energy, to planting trees - every step makes a difference. We'll clearly show you how your actions can improve air quality.

What can I do?

Many of our habits and behaviours - at first glance also completely unrelated to air pollution - have an impact on increasing air pollution. Environmental protection is a system of communicating vessels, which is important to remember. And what can each of us do to combat air pollution?

1
Use public transport, cycle or walk

Give up your car and opt for greener forms of transport.

2
Reduce energy consumption

Turn off electrical appliances when not in use, use energy-efficient light bulbs and limit the use of air conditioning.

3
Avoid burning waste

Don't burn rubbish, and don't burn waste such as plastic packaging in the oven or fireplace.

4
Reduce water consumption

Save water, e.g. by taking shorter showers, turning off the water when brushing your teeth, and fixing leaks.

5
Buy recycled products

Choose recycled products and avoid disposable packaging.

6
Choose organic products

Buy products that are environmentally friendly, such as biodegradable rubbish bags.

7
Eat less meat

Limit your meat consumption, as meat production is one of the biggest sources of greenhouse gas emissions!

8
Limit the use of chemicals

Avoid the use of chemicals, such as pesticides, which can affect air quality.

9
Plant trees

Plant trees and plants that help purify the air.

10

Take care to recycle batteries and other waste that can affect air quality.

11
Use renewable energy

Use renewable energy such as solar or wind power where possible.

12
Reduce paper consumption

Save paper, e.g. by printing double-sided and using recycled paper.

13
Share your activities!

If you consciously avoid air pollution and follow most of the above advice, educate others! Try to encourage them to take action to protect the environment.
