Colourful Easter eggs and fluffy bunnies dominate the shelves - a sign that Easter is fast approaching. Soon our tables will be filled with fragrant cakes and sweet cakes and our homes will be filled with a joyful, spring-like atmosphere. This is the perfect time to think about decorations that will transform your interior - and in an eco spirit!

Everyone remembers planting cress on cotton wool as a child and watching it grow day by day until it finally found its way onto a sandwich. What about using it as an Easter decoration? It's a great, eco-friendly idea! Just plant the cress in a decorative pot, cup or jar you already have at home - preferably one that will get a second life.

What is an organic DIY Easter?

It's creative fun using materials you have on hand - old newspapers, cardboard, string or papers. Instead of buying new decorations, it's worth creating unique decorations yourself. This form of creativity is also a great way to relax and take a break from Christmas cleaning.

Easter eco-friendly DIY ideas

Sometimes it really doesn't take much to bring colour and freshness to an interior. A bit of willpower, good glue and scissors really can work wonders.

  • Hare garland - is a charming decoration that would be great in a children's room, for example. You need coloured paper (it can also be gift-wrapping paper, white technical paper or newspaper), a bunny template, scissors and string (jute or plain). Cut out the shapes of the bunnies, decorate them with markers and hang them on the string using, for example, wooden clothespins. Ready
  • Paper Easter eggs - To make this striking decoration you need: scissors, glue and an old newspaper or colourful magazine. Trace several identical egg shapes on your chosen paper, cut them out, then fold them in half and glue the halves together - until you have a three-dimensional egg. You can add a bow or string to the top and hang the decoration on, for example, basil branches in a vase.
  • Egg-shaped pendants - is a simple and effective way to make an eco-decoration. Cut out an egg shape from cardboard - preferably its outline - and wrap it in yarn or coloured string. The finished hangers can be placed on twigs or made into a mini garland.

Easter DIY in the spirit of zero waste is not only creative fun, but also a way to take a conscious approach to decorating your home. It's worth using what we already have and creating something beautiful. Without excess plastic and disposable decorations.
