In an era of growing environmental awareness, we are increasingly choosing products that are not only environmentally friendly, but also friendly to our health. One simple step is care based on natural ingredients.
Homemade face masks are not only a healthy and eco-friendly alternative to drugstore products, but also save money. With readily available, natural ingredients, you can create cosmetics that nourish your skin, cleanse it and restore its radiance - without unnecessary chemicals and plastic packaging.

Why use homemade masks?
Using homemade masks has many benefits - both for your skin and the environment. It's eco-friendly and in line with the concept of zero waste - using ingredients you already have at home, you reduce waste and plastic consumption.
Homemade masks are also a real money saver. The ingredients needed to prepare them are usually cheap and readily available. So you can take care of your skin without investing in expensive cosmetics.
By preparing the masks yourself, you are also assured that they do not contain harmful chemicals such as artificial additives, colourings or preservatives, which are often found in ready-made products.
Below you will find tried and tested recipes for masks to suit different skin needs.

Mask for dry skin
Ingredients:
- ½ of a ripe avocado
- 20 g oat flakes
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
Method of preparation:
Mash avocado with a fork, add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. Apply the finished mask to cleansed skin and leave on for 20 minutes. Then rinse off with lukewarm water.
Action:
This mask intensely moisturises and nourishes the skin. Avocado and honey are natural emollients that retain moisture in the epidermis. Oatmeal, on the other hand, soothes irritation, while apple cider vinegar and lemon restore the skin's natural pH.

Clay cleansing mask
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons of clay (green, white or pink)
- a few drops of vegetable oil (e.g. rose oil)
- a little warm water
Method of preparation:
In a bowl (do not use a metal one), mix the clay with water and oil until you have a smooth paste. Apply the mask to your cleansed face and leave on for 15 minutes. Make sure the mask doesn't dry out - spritz with water, toner or hydrolate. Wash off with lukewarm water.
Action:
The clay deeply cleanses and mattifies the face. It also helps fight blackheads, reduces serum and tightens pores. The oil added to the mask prevents skin dryness and promotes skin regeneration.

Linseed moisturising mask
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp ground flaxseed,
- ¼ cup hot water.
Method of preparation:
Pour hot water over the ground flaxseed and leave to cool. After a few minutes, a gel-like substance will form. Apply it to your cleansed face, leave it on for 15 minutes and then wash it off with warm water.
Action:
Linseed has a soothing, regenerating and strongly moisturising effect. It is an ideal choice for those with sensitive, dry and irritation-prone skin.
Soothing yeast mask
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp warm milk,
- ¼ cube of fresh yeast,
- 2 drops of olive oil.
Method of preparation:
Mix the ingredients and apply a thick layer to a cleansed face. After 20 minutes, wash off the mask with warm water.
Action:
Yeast soothes inflammation and cleanses the complexion. Olive oil and milk moisturise and regenerate the skin.
Nourishing mask with honey and egg yolk
Ingredients:
- A few drops of wheat germ oil
- 1 teaspoon of honey,
- 1/2 raw egg yolk
- a few drops of lemon juice
Method of preparation:
Mix all ingredients, then apply a thick layer to cleansed face. Leave on your face for 20 minutes, then wash off with lukewarm water.
