Flowers for textiles - ecology and aid in one!
Increasingly, campaigns are being organised that involve local communities in real action for the environment. Textile collections provide an opportunity to give clothes a second life and promote environmentally friendly attitudes among local residents. This is why such initiatives deserve special attention - they are not only useful, but also inspiring.
In an era of increasing environmental awareness, there is more and more talk about responsible waste management. Particular attention is being paid today to the fast fashion industry, which has a serious impact on our environment. According to European Union regulations, from 2025 all member states are obliged to introduce mandatory separate collection of textile waste. This means that clothing that could still be used by others should be reused or recycled.

Textile collection for a good cause
On Sunday, 27 April, we had the opportunity to participate in another ecological initiative! The action "Be eco in spring!", organised by Głos Wielkopolski, took place in the Pocket Park in Luboń.
Participants in the event received plant cuttings in exchange for bringing unwanted clothes. The event also had a charitable dimension - donated textiles went to the EcoTextil Foundation, which in return will donate rehabilitation equipment for the Ugory Nursing Home in Poznań.

The effects of the collection? Impressive!
The campaign was very successful! In just two hours it was possible to distribute as many as 1,500 seedlings! The result of the collection was also impressive, with participants donating more than two tonnes of unwanted clothes.
The event proved to be a great motivation for spring cleaning. Instead of throwing away unused clothes, participants decided to give them a second life, thus contributing to protecting the environment and helping those in need. Thanks to their attitude, they gained new flowers to decorate their balconies, backyards or plots.
Edu4Eco joins in the collection
Representatives of the Edu4Eco portal were happy to support the event. Children who donated clothes received an ecological fairy tale from us. As always, there was a lot of laughter and fun at our stand - those wishing to do so could compete in an ecological version of the Dobble game, as well as talk to us about ecology and responsible waste management.
We are delighted that so many people got involved - together we showed that ecology and helping others can go hand in hand!
