Green library: Kitten teaches how to separate rubbish

Kittie needs no introduction - certainly not to anyone with small children in the family. She is a friendly cat who, together with her friends, explores the world and goes on many adventures. Let's find out whether the title character knows anything about ecology.

'Kitty Kitten. What about the rubbish?" deals with the topic of proper waste handling. The main character and her grandmother go to the shop. Taking the opportunity, they also go to throw away the rubbish. Near the rubbish bins they meet Kitty Kitten's friend Pack and his mum. The children boast that they know how to separate their rubbish and tell what can be put in each container. In addition, the topic of taking their own bag for shopping is touched on, which helps to reduce the amount of waste we produce. Grandmother Kittie also explains to her granddaughter, among other things, that we should take expired medicines to the pharmacy.

Kitten - valuable knowledge for the youngest children

As you can see, the books in the series about Kitty Cat are aimed at the youngest readers - aged between 2 and 5. It is important to teach children from a very young age how important it is to take care of our planet. Presenting the topic through a character adored by thousands of Poles makes the content reach a larger audience.

The illustrations in the book are characteristic of the whole series about Kitty Cat. The colourful pictures depict scenes from the adventures described in a simple way.

Learning through play? The perfect choice not only for a toddler

The downside is the workmanship of the storybook. The book has a soft cover, which is very susceptible to being crushed or torn - especially by children - and with frequent use what happened to my copy can happen (the cover and the middle page tore off).

I believe that this is an item worth recommending as a first book dealing with the topic of ecology and proper waste handling. I know from my own experience that children listen to the story with curiosity, eager to play the role of their favourite heroine and segregate rubbish themselves. Let's let them do it, after all, learning through play is the best form of education for children.
